To ensure an effortless experience and maintain anonymous usage metrics, the following non-personal technical data is stored in your browser (via HTML5 Local Storage):

None of the technical preferences or anonymous metrics are ever sold, traded, or shared with third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing platforms.
All requests to Analectic pass through Cloudflare's content delivery network for security and speed. This is what lets the site load quickly from anywhere in the world and protects it against malicious traffic.
By the nature of this arrangement, Cloudflare processes your connection data (IP address, browser type, request time) under its own privacy policy. In this context Cloudflare acts as a data processor; the principle in Section 4 — that data is never shared with advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing companies — remains unchanged.
Analectic does not use or store the geolocation information Cloudflare makes available.
Because we do not store personal profiles, you retain full autonomy over your data directly on your device. You can erase all stored preferences and tokens at any time simply by clearing your browser cache and local storage.
Like the web version, the Analectic iOS app requires no registration, sign-in, or membership; it never asks for an email address, password, or any other identifying information.
Likes. When you like a quote, the fact that you liked it is stored on your device. Only an anonymous event is sent to the server, incrementing that quote's like counter — or decrementing it when you undo the like. This event is recorded with the anonymous client token described in Section 2, exactly as the download counter works on the web. The server never stores who liked which quote; your list of likes exists only on your device.
Your saved items and folders. Your bookmarks and the folders you create are stored entirely on your device and are never sent to our servers. If iCloud is enabled on your device, this list is stored in your own iCloud account through Apple's key–value sync service and carried to your other Apple devices. That transfer is between you and Apple; Analectic has no access to it.
When you delete the app. All local data — your likes and saved items, your folders, your theme and language preferences — is removed together with the app. If you use iCloud sync, a copy of the list remains in your own iCloud account and returns when you reinstall the app; you can remove that copy via Settings → Apple Account → iCloud. The aggregate like counters on the server are anonymous and therefore cannot be withdrawn or linked to any individual.
No sharing. Anonymous technical data originating from the mobile app is subject to the same principle as Section 4: it is never shared with, transferred to, or sold to any advertising network, data broker, or marketing company.
